On April 16 from 1-5 p.m., Humane Society Silicon Valley will be hosting a “PurrFest” adoption event with local rescue groups. HSSV’s satellite locations at PETCO Saratoga and PETCO Sunnyvale will also be participating in PurrFest. The event will give adopters “Pawfurred Pricing” for all adult cats and dogs who are 6 months or older. Pawfurred Pricing is a name your own price adoption special that will last through the end of April.

HSSV will also be hosting the eighth annual Fur Ball fundraiser at California’s Great America on April 30. The “Carnival of the Animals” event will take place from 6-11 p.m. where guests attend with animal companions and sample wine from more than a dozen wineries. There will be a sit-down dinner from Maggiano’s Little Italy, sorbets from Silver Moon Desserts, chocolates from La Fondue, “Mutt-inis”, hours d’oeuvres and a silent auction. Other highlights include: walking “The Carnevale Carpet” with your animal companion, teaching your dog a “Presto Pet Trick”, an animal communicator, photographs, watercolor portraits and caricatures of canine companions and music by the Lyratones. Tickets are $250 per person, tables of ten $2500 and Top Dog VIP tables of ten $5000. Advance reservations required. Call 408-262-2133 ext 131 for ticket information or to make a donation.
