Join the Santa Clara Sister Cities Youth Commission- Wednesday, August 10th, 7-8pm: The SCSCA Youth Commission participates in cultural exchange and fundraising events through Sister Cities International as well as Youth Leadership Conferences. Meet other students and members of the community interested in new cultures. Get involved in community service and gain the opportunity to travel to our sister cities of Limerick, Ireland, Coimbra, Portugal and Izumo, Japan. City Wide Garage Sale- Saturday, August 13th: Put your unused items to good use by holding a garage sale this Saturday. Residents register online for individual, multi-family or block garage sales. Garage sale registrations are posted on a map and updated every Friday leading up to the event after registration begins. All Santa Clara Residents are encouraged to participate in this new event. Willy Wonka Auditions: Roberta Jones Junior Theatre begins our 48th Anniversary Season with “Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka!” The delicious adventures experienced by Charlie Bucket on his visit to Willy Wonka’s mysterious chocolate factory light up the stage in this captivating adaptation of Roald Dahl’s fantastical tale. Everyone, ages 8-18, who auditions will be cast in the show. Auditions will be in the Mary Louise Mello Auditorium, at the Community Recreation Center, 969 Kiely Blvd. in Santa Clara, from 3:30-6:30PM. Performances will be October 28-November 6, Fridays and Saturdays at 7pm, Sundays at 2pm. Tickets go on sale at www.RJJT.org, or in person at the Community Recreation Center, starting August 29.
