Santa Clara Police Report: January 19 – 25

The Police Blotter highlights a partial list of incidents in the city and is distributed on a weekly basis. The Blotter provides the date, time, approximate location, a narrative summary of the incident, case number and the most serious arrest charge.

Meanwhile, the Arrest Log provides a timely, chronological summary of all the arrests made by the Santa Clara Police Department. It includes the name of the suspect(s), date of birth, city in which they reside, arrest date, time, location, case number as well as all of the charge(s) associated with the arrest. Theft from Vehicle

Location: 400 Block of Saratoga Avenue

Public Safety Dispatchers received a call regarding an in-progress vehicle burglary.

Responding officers located a subject matching the reporting party’s description. A Records check revealed the subject had a misdemeanor warrant for his arrest. A search of his person yielded burglary tools and a controlled substance. He was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

Location: 1900 Grant Street

At approximately 0359 hours, an unidentified subject(s) used a pry tool to access an exterior key drop box for a business on the 1900 block of Grant Street. The subject(s) then accessed the business itself and stole additional keys. The subject(s) remain at large

Petty Theft

Location: 3000 Stevens Creek Boulevard

A male subject concealed approximately $268 in clothing and walked out of a store on the 3000 block of Stevens Creek Boulevard. The subject was detained by Loss Prevention Specialists who contacted SCPD.

A Records check revealed the subject had a warrant. He was arrested.

Location: 2700 Block of Walsh Avenue

Unknown subject(s) spray painted graffiti in a parking garage on the 2700 block of Walsh Avenue. The damage is estimated at approximately $400. The subject(s) remain at large.

Citation

Location: Newhall Street and The Alameda

A male subject was observed driving on The Alameda near Newhall Street. An officer conducted a DMV registration check on the license plate which revealed the registration was expired despite displaying a current registration tab. The officer initiated a traffic enforcement stop.

During the contact, the subject admitted to placing the tab on his vehicle. He was cited and released at the scene.

Residential Burglary

Location: 2200 Block of River Bed Court

A victim contacted Public Safety Dispatchers regarding a prior residential burglary on the 2200 block of River Bed Court.

The victim left the residence at approximately 1015 hours and returned at approximately 1140 hours. During that timeframe, an unknown subject(s) ransacked the house and stole jewelry and money. The subject(s) remain at large.
