On June 7, 2013 members from the Santa Clara Police Department made a significant arrest of a three member burglary crew. The suspects were responsible for a number of burglaries in the 1000 Block of Benton St. During their crime spree, the suspects conducted surveillance on each home before they entered. The suspects would knock on the front door of a targeted residence checking for occupants or other potential hazards. Investigators believe one or two suspects also may have acted as a “lookout”.
Property valued over $20,000 including jewelry, cameras, watches, purses, and an Apple computer was recovered as a result from this arrest. The burglary crew consisted of two juveniles and one adult. The juveniles were taken to juvenile hall on burglary charges and Marquel Brown DOB 12/9/94, a Santa Clara resident was taken to the county jail on five counts of burglary.
Investigators believe this burglary crew is responsible for additional burglaries and is asking the public for assistance in identifying the property that was recovered.
