Police Report: Incident at Bowers Elementary School Campus

On Sept. 7, 2021, at 2:20 p.m., the City of Santa Clara’s Public Safety Dispatchers received multiple 9-1-1 calls from community members.

According to the callers to 9-1-1, a male subject walked onto the Bowers Elementary School campus on the 2700 block of Barkley Avenue as students were being released from school. A staff member noted the subject was acting erratically and began approaching children. The staff member intercepted the subject and got into a physical altercation with the subject.  The subject then attempted to gain access at a different part of the school and got into another physical altercation with another staff member.
