Police Report: December 16 – 22

The Police Blotter highlights a partial list of incidents in the City and is distributed on a weekly basis. The Blotter provides the date, time, approximate location, a narrative summary of the incident, case number and the most serious arrest charge.

Meanwhile, the Arrest Log provides a timely, chronological summary of all of the arrests made by the Santa Clara Police Department. It includes the name of the suspect(s), date of birth, city in which they reside, arrest date, time, location, case number as well as all of the charge(s) associated with the arrest. This information, located on the Santa Clara Police Department’s homepage (www.scpd.org), is updated daily and serves as the most comprehensive list of arrests made.

Drug Arrest

Location:  1400 Isabella Street

Due to a complaint of possible criminal activity, an officer checked the area of 1400 Isabella Street. The officer located a subject hiding in an alley behind a closed business. The subject was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia, suspected methamphetamine and burglary tools. The subject was arrested.

Monday, December 17, 2018 

Warrant Arrest

Location:  2900 Block of Senter Road in San Jose

Detectives located a suspect in San Jose who was wanted for a domestic violence incident that occurred in Santa Clara. The subject was stopped as he drove his vehicle in the 2900 block of Senter Road. The subject was arrested.

Tuesday, December 18, 2018 

Drug and Warrant Arrest

Location:  Lewis Street and Jefferson Street

Officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop at Lewis Street and Jefferson Street. A records check revealed the driver was driving on a suspended driver’s license and had an outstanding warrant for drug violations.  The driver was cited and released. A passenger in the vehicle had a felony arrest warrant for possession of stolen property and a misdemeanor arrest warrant for driving on a suspended driver’s license. A search incident to arrest revealed suspected methamphetamine. The passenger was arrested.

Residential Burglary                       

Location: 500 Block of Tanoak Drive

At approximately 1130 hours, the victim arrived home and found the side door to his garage broken. Upon entry the victim found his home had been ransacked and items were taken. At that point, the victim contacted Public Safety Dispatchers. The suspect(s) are unidentified and outstanding.

Warrant Arrest

Location:  El Camino Real and Scott Boulevard

An Officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop around El Camino Real and Scott Boulevard. A records check revealed the driver had an arrest warrant for several traffic violations. The driver was arrested.

Thursday, December 20, 2018 

Warrant Arrest

Location:  Main Street and Washington Street

Officers were aware of a subject with a felony arrest warrant for domestic violence. When the subject was seen driving away from his residence, he was stopped around Main Street and Washington Street. The subject was arrested for the warrant.

Warrant Arrest

Location:  2455 El Camino Real, Holiday Inn

Officers were dispatched to the Holiday Inn Hotel regarding guests refusing to leave. Hotel staff suspected the couple rented the room under another person’s name. Officers contacted the couple. The male subject had an outstanding arrest warrant out of San Jose for kidnapping. The male subject was arrested. The female subject was in possession of drug paraphernalia. Inside the room were several credit cards and pieces of mail that did not belong to the two subjects. The couple told the officers a friend rented the room for them.  Officers called the person that was registered as the renter of the room. She told the officers she did not rent the room or know the couple staying in the room. The female subject was cited and released for the drug paraphernalia. The identity theft investigation is ongoing.

Drug Possession

Location:  300 Block of Fenley Avenue, San Jose

An officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop in the 300 Block of Fenley Avenue in San Jose. A records check revealed the driver was on searchable probation for a theft conviction. The officer performed a probation search of the vehicle and located drug paraphernalia and suspected methamphetamine. The driver was cited for the traffic violation and drug violations.

Residential Burglary                       

 Location: 2600 Block of Estella Drive

A neighbor was watching a residence while the owner was out of town. The neighbor saw that the rear glass sliding door to the residence was broken and called Public Safety Dispatchers. Responding officers checked the residence and found that the house had been ransacked. Officers were unable to determine what had been stolen until the owner returned.  Voice messages were left for the owner. The suspect(s) have not been identified and are outstanding.
