Mission College hosts Tuskegee Airman for Black History Month Presentation

On Thursday, February 23rd, Mission College will host a one-hour presentation by Captain Lester Williams of the Tuskegee Airmen. The all-black Air Force squadron became one of the most highly respected fighter groups of World War II and the Airmen as a collective included pilots, navigators, bombardiers, maintenance and support staff, instructors and all the personnel who kept the planes in the air.

Captain Lester Williams has written a book in collaboration with his daughter, Penny, titled “Victory: Tales of a Tuskegee Airman, and has enjoyed enthusiastic audiences at speaking engagements recently, enlivened by the new George Lucas film “Red Tails.”

Captain Williams’ presentation at Mission College begins at 9:30 AM and lasts for approximately one hour. At its conclusion, there will be a question and answer session, followed by a sale and signing of the book Victory: Tales of a Tuskegee Airman. This presentation is free and open to the public. Captain William’s book is available for $20, cash only.

Mission College is located at 3000 Mission College Blvd in Santa Clara. Guests should park in lots A, B, C, or D, and purchase a $2.00/day parking permit. Mission College is served by VTA lines 57 and 60. The presentation will take place in the campus’ Main Building, Center Space
