It is no secret that the Santa Clara Unified School District governing board has been in a sorry state in recent years. Outstanding teachers and administrators have left in droves to seek employment in districts where they will be respected and valued as professionals.
The solution must begin with the election of two outstanding candidates for area 2 — Noelani Sallings and Jodi Muirhead. Andy Ratermann deserves to be retained in area 3, as he is one of the voices of reason on the Board.
