Cultural Commission Breaks Out of the Box

Bay Area visual artists are invited to compete in the Santa Clara’s “Breaking Out of the Box” Art Exhibition.

The exhibition, in which all entries must be formed or produced to represent a box, will run at Santa Clara City Hall from April through September.

Entrants must be at least 18, and live within the nine San Francisco Bay Area counties. Art entries must be freestanding or able to fit on a pedestal. Artists may enter up to three works and there is no entry fee. The Santa Clara Cultural Commission will serve as judges and artists will receive a selection notice by March 7.

To enter artists, should complete the “All Boxed Up” entry form available at http://santaclaraca.gov/modules/showdocument.aspx?documentid=10427 and submit it along with a CD of three digital images of each submission, a brief (500 words or less) artist statement and one paragraph (less than 300 words) narrative biography.
