Save the Date! The 52nd Santa Clara Parade of Champions to Honor Our Community and Frontline Heroes on Oct. 9th, 2021

The Santa Clara Parade of Champions returns to its historic downtown on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021 at 11 a.m. to honor our Community and Frontline Heroes — live and in person. The Parade is one of the most unifying events in the history of Santa Clara and the second-largest parade in the state of California at its peak.

Many heroes will be honored in this year’s parade from Community volunteers, Veterans, Teachers, Medical, PD to Firefighters — the list is long.  Our Grand Marshal will be Krazy George, once a local Buchser Highschool teacher, now an Earthquakes Professional Cheerleader. Clearly, we can all use a bit more cheer this year.

The Parade will have several 20ft balloons, multiple floats, 7 marching bands, drill teams, school sports and clubs, classic cars and a host of diverse youth, multicultural, and community service groups. The Parade begins at 11 a.m., and festivities will start at 8 a.m. and run until 5 p.m. The Parade will be LIVE, live-streamed, and recorded to be aired on the SC City Channel 15/99 (if AT&T) for a month after Parade Day.  There will be maximum visibility for all our heroes, supporting organizations, community and sponsors.

The downtown will be buzzing with activities from the Farmer’s Market, Opening Ceremonies, to Salsa on the Square sponsored by local Volare Studios. There will be live entertainment, shops, dining, as well as diverse and multicultural and nonprofit booths in the “Community Village” as well as the Santa Clara Library Bookmobile and an Earthquakes Kid’s Zone.

Parade organizers are looking for volunteers — and offer community service hours to students.  To sign up to volunteer, sponsor, participate or review Parade Day Program and route, visit us at www.scparadeofchampions.org.

The Santa Clara Parade of Champions is a 501c3 nonprofit that relies on the volunteerism of our Board of Directors, community, and support of our grantors and sponsors each year. Special thanks to our Grant Donors, the City of Santa Clara for their support of City services, and the County Board of Supervisors.
