Santa Clara Valley Watercolor Society Holds Annual Member Show

The Santa Clara Valley Watercolor Society is holding its 47th annual member show at the Triton Museum of Art’s Rose Shenson Community Gallery from now until Oct. 26.

Featuring all watermedia (watercolors and acrylics) the show features work from nearly 100 members of the society and was juried by Robert Semans, a painter with works displayed at the California State Senate, NASA-Ames Research Center at Moffett Field, History Museum of San Jose and San Jose State University, among others.

An artist reception and awards ceremony was held on Oct. 11 with the following artists taking prizes:

First Place: Michael Rogan’s “Room with a View”

Second Place: Jan Grady’s “Colored Bottles in Sunlight”

Third Place: Cathy Belleville’s “Fall Harvest”

Honorable Mention: Peter Carey’s “Swinging Tahoe”

Emerging Artist: Helen Jones’ “Cat Nap”

Living in Color: Kim NaVarre’s “Plan B”

Beyond the Surface: Marika Anderson’s “Confetti”

The show, where most of the paintings are for sale, is open Tuesday – Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.
