Santa Clara Libraries Set to Reopen

The City of Santa Clara is preparing to reopen all its library branches to the public starting at the end of the month. This week, the City announced it will expand the hours of operation at the Central Park Library.

Starting on March 14, the Central Park Library will operate with the following hours:

  • Monday, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
  • Tuesday, 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Wednesday, 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Thursday, 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Friday, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
  • Saturday, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
  • Sunday, Closed

The Bookmobile is back on the road and running on its regular operating schedule. It will have hold pickups available.

The City says the hours can increase because the library system’s “workforce capacity” has “stabilized from the recent pandemic outbreak.”

Santa Clara was one of the only library systems in the County to reduce library hours in late January.

Mission and Northside Libraries Reopening

Santa Clara will also reopen the Mission and Northside Libraries starting on March 28.

  • The Mission Branch will operate with the following hours:
  • Monday, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
  • Tuesday, 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Wednesday, 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Thursday, 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Friday, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday, Closed

The Northside Branch will operate with the following hours:

  • Monday, Closed
  • Tuesday, 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Wednesday, 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Thursday, 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Friday, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
  • Saturday, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
  • Sunday, Closed

Starting on March 28, hold pickups and book drop will be available at all library locations. As always, you can access the library’s collection of eBooks and eAudiobooks, magazines and other resources online at sclibrary.org.

Library Staffing Changes

The library system has also made changes to its staff.

Adina Aguirre will take over for Cheryl Lee and oversee the Northside Library. Aguirre is the current Library Program Coordinator for the Mission Branch and will continue to support the Northside Library while the City looks to fill the vacancy.
