Silicon Valley Home Show: Friday, Jan. 20th–Jan. 22nd- Looking for inspiration, tips, or ideas for your next DIY home project? Or maybe you’d like to hire a contractor or company to take out the guesswork? A home show should be your first stop. Attending a home & garden show lets you compare prices, shake hands and meet the contractors before you hire them, see samples of their work up close and personal, hear from the experts and touch the latest products. Free admission and free parking. Friday 12 p.m.-6 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m.-5 p.m.. Santa Clara Convention Center–5001 Great America Parkway, Santa Clara.

Book Sale – Foundation and Friends: Saturday, Jan. 21st, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.- Get great deals on thousands of books, movies and music at the Friends of the Library Book Sale. Proceeds support library programs and services. Open to members at 9:00 a.m. and to the public at 10:00 a.m. From noon to 2:00p.m. books are sold for $5.00 a bag. Not a member? Membership is $15.00 for individuals or $25.00 for families. TOPS, Chapter 1318 Open House: Thursday, Jan. 26th, 6:15 – 7:15 p.m.- TOPS is a weekly support group which encourages members to lose weight sensibly by weighing in once a week.
