New Offices for Santa Clara County Assessor, Clerk-Recorder

Three Santa Clara County departments will move to the new West Tasman campus in San José. Previously located at 70 W. Hedding St., the Assessor’s Office, Department of Tax and Collections and the Clerk-Recorder’s Office will soon be more centrally located and accessible for residents.

The departments will move on the following dates:

  • Assessor’s Office will move to 130 W. Tasman Dr. on Aug. 28
  • Department of Tax and Collections will move to 110 W. Tasman Dr. on Sept. 11
  • Clerk-Recorder’s Office will move to 110 W. Tasman Dr. on Oct. 23

There will be no interruption of services during all transitions.

The new West Tasman Campus will have free parking with more available spots and is also close to Valley Transportation Authority’s light rail and bus system.

“Accurate assessment and customer service are our two highest priorities. This new state-of-the-art building will make it easier than ever for the community to meet with our staff to get their questions answered,” said County of Santa Clara Assessor Larry Stone. “We hope people will find it more convenient to visit the West Tasman campus, where our helpful team will be ready to serve them beginning August 28.”

The three departments offer tangential services, and the new location will be more convenient for customers to do business at one location. People can pay property taxes, get birth and death certificates, look up their assessed value, apply for passports and more.

“Our departments pride ourselves on providing easy and efficient services to the community. We look forward to moving to this new location, which will be more accessible to our residents,” said Margaret Olaiya, Director of the Finance Agency.

For people who want to get married at the Santa Clara County facility, the West Tasman Campus has both an indoor and outdoor wedding chapel to better accommodate guests and inclement weather.
