Santa Clara Police Report: July 14 – 20

The Police Blotter highlights a partial list of incidents in the City and is distributed on a weekly basis. The Blotter provides the date, time, approximate location, a narrative summary of the incident, case number and the most serious arrest charge.

Meanwhile, the Arrest Log provides a timely, chronological summary of all the arrests made by the Santa Clara Police Department. It includes the name of the suspect(s), date of birth, city in which they reside, arrest date, time, location, case number as well as all of the charge(s) associated with the arrest. This information, located on the Santa Clara Police Department’s homepage (www.scpd.org), is updated daily and serves as the most comprehensive list of arrests made.

Warrant Arrest and Drug Possession

Location:  El Sobrante Street and Kiely Boulevard

Officers observed a vehicle registered to a suspect with several outstanding arrest warrants. When the owner of the vehicle returned to his car, the officers stopped him. The suspect was arrested for the following arrest warrants: transportation of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of a controlled substance and theft and driving on a suspended driver’s license. The suspect’s license was still suspended, and he was in possession of suspected methamphetamine and a methamphetamine pipe. The suspect was also arrested for the on-view charges of driving with a suspended driver’s license, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Warrant Arrest

Location:  Santa Clara Police Station

Officers responded to a suspicious person outside the police station. A records check revealed he had outstanding arrest warrants for auto theft and possession of a stolen vehicle. The suspect was also on parole. The officers obtained a parole hold for the suspect.

Commercial Burglary

Location:  3000 block of Patrick Henry Drive

Private security observed a suspect enter an empty commercial building and called the police. Officers detained the suspect when he exited the building. Officers observed that there were pry marks on the door and large amounts of copper plumbing and copper wiring cut from the interior of the building. The suspect had two methamphetamine pipes on his person. The suspect was arrested for burglary and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Warrant Arrest

Location:  400 block of Winchester Boulevard

Officers were dispatched to the area of Winchester Blvd. and Newhall St. regarding a suspicious female subject who was walking up and down driveways and looking into yards of homes in the area. Officers detained the subject. Officers did not find any theft victims. A records check revealed the suspect had outstanding arrest warrants for possession of a switch blade, possession of drug paraphernalia, identity theft, driving under the influence of alcohol, hit and run and driving on a suspended driver’s license.

Residential Burglary

Location:  700 Block of Jefferson Street

The victim returned home at approximately 1706 hours and noticed the front door was unlocked and the window next to the door was open. The victim went inside and saw various items had been stolen. The victim called the police. The suspect has not been identified and the investigation is ongoing.

Friday, July 19, 2019 

Commercial Burglary

Location:  3000 block of Patrick Henry Drive

Private security observed the suspect enter an empty locked building and called the police. The suspect fled from the building when officers arrived. The Officers caught the suspect. The suspect had a cordless saw with extra blades, a cordless drill and pry tools. The suspect cut several large copper pipes from the ceiling and walls inside the building. The suspect was arrested for burglary.

Warrant Arrest

Location:  Cypress Avenue and Alden Way

Officers contacted a suspect known to have a warrant for his arrest. The warrants for were drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. The suspect was arrested for the outstanding warrants.
