At the conclusion of Monday night’s football game at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, a male suspect was arrested for vandalizing a statue of Joe Montana.

Around 9:50 p.m., A security officer witnessed suspect Jorge Alberto Lopez grab onto the face mask of the statue and pull it off. The suspect was subsequently booked into County jail on a charge of felony vandalism — case number 19-1111294.

Lopez is a resident of Santa Clara.

The statue was made in 2018 to immortalize the famous “Catch.”
