Santa Clara Library & Friends Host Craft Fair

Always ready to roll up their sleeves to raise funds for library programs, the Santa Clara City Library Foundation and Friends sponsored its 3rd Annual Holiday Craft Fair December 14 at the Central Park Library.

One of 30 craftspeople, seventh grader Katrina Espinoza (catscades.weebly.com) sold ruffled scarves. “It was a hobby, and I ended up with so many scarves, I started to sell them,” she says.

Minoo Asadi Amjadi (mino@minoscontest.com) sold colorful jewelry she made from recycled materials.

“It was a very nice experience because selling was new to me. I got to speak with other people and made new friends,” says Amjadi.

“It’s been a success. We started with one room and now it’s two, and we’ve had to turn away craftspeople,” says Mary Kelly, library volunteer and holiday fair coordinator. The 2014 holiday fair will be December 6. Applications will be accepted beginning in September.
