Santa Clara Around Town 5/18 – 5/25

Foundation and Friends Booksale: Saturday, May 21st, 10am-2pm: Get great deals on thousands of books, movies and music at the Friends of the Library Book Sale. The sale will be held in the Central Park Library, Redwood Room and proceeds support library programs and services. Open to members at 9:00am and to the public at 10:00am. From Noon to 2:00pm books are sold for $5.00 a bag. Santa Clara City Library – Margie Edinger Room 2635 Homestead Road, Santa Clara.

Annual Juried Exhibition of Student Work: May 23rd – June 3rd: Department of Art and Art History Exhibitions, Fine Arts Gallery. The Department of Art & Art History administrative office is located at 852 Market Street. The art historian faculty offices are located at 832 Market Street. The studio art faculty and classrooms are located at the Fine Arts building #601.

Chat with the Chief: Monday, May 23rd, 7:30-8:30pm: As part of the City of Santa Clara’s ongoing commitment to outstanding customer service, Police Chief Michael J. Sellers is hosting “Chat with the Chief.” This program provides residents with an opportunity to personally meet their elected Police Chief and other law enforcement representatives in a friendly, casual setting. At this public meeting, residents can discuss community matters of interest and meet other people committed to public safety. Chat with the Chief will take place on Monday, May 23, from 7:00 – 8:30pm at Westwood Elementary School located at 435 Saratoga Avenue.
