SCLOrk Santa Clara University Laptop Orchestra

You never know what will happen at a SCLOrk concert. All you know is that you will see a stage full of computers, loudspeakers, cable spaghetti, and humans making sound. SCLOrk (The Santa Clara Laptop Orchestra) is a computer music ensemble dedicated to experimental electronic music composition and performance. Their intrepid student performers are interdisciplinary musicians using cutting-edge technology to explore the intersections of music, creative coding, engineering, and computer science. This event is free and open to the public. Santa Clara University, Music Recital Hall–500 El Camino Real, Santa Clara.

Happy Hour Craft: St. Patrick’s Day
Friday, March 17th 4 p.m.-5 p.m.
Join the Northside Library for their Happy Hour Craft dedicated to St. Patrick’s Day. Children can decorate a festive shamrock so you’ll be lucky throughout 2017. This event is for ages 0 through 5-years-old. Northside Branch Library–695 Moreland Way, Santa Clara.

Voices: SCU Concert & Chamber Singers
Friday, March 17th 7:30 p.m.
SCU Choirs will give voice to the voiceless through an evening of poignant and powerful repertoire about and by those whose perspectives are not often heard. General admission is $10, SCU student and child admission is $10, and senior and employee/alum admission is $15. Friends of the Library Book Sale
Saturday, March 18th 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
Get great deals on thousands of books, movies and music at the Friends of the Library Book Sale. Proceeds support library programs and services. Open to members at 9 a.m. and to the public at 10 a.m.  From Noon to 2 p.m., books are sold for $5 a bag. Santa Clara City Library, Redwood Room–2635 Homestead Road, Santa Clara.
