National Coffee with a Cop Day- Friday, October 7th, 8-9:15am: Coffee with a Cop is a national movement with a goal of building relations between the community and those that protect them. The Santa Clara Police Department invites residents to join them for a cup of coffee and conversation on Friday, October 7 – National Coffee with a Cop Day – at City Lights Espresso from 8-9:15am. City Lights is located at 1171 Homestead Road, across the street from the U.S. Post Office. Community policing has long been considered a framework for establishing trust between the community and law enforcement. Coffee with a Cop will allow residents to ask questions, discuss happenings in the area, voice concerns and get to know the officers who patrol their neighborhood.

The 6th Annual Ottaviano Family Pasta & Bingo Fundraiser Night- Saturday, October 8th, 6:30pm: All you can eat: penne with Bolognese or fresh tomato & basil, green salad, garlic bread, coffee. Adults admission is $15, children under 10 is $8 and under kids under 3 are free. For tickets and/ or donations go to: http://conta.cc/2cDpZfh. This event will help support Jessica Huse who is recovering from traumatic brain injury. It will also, on behalf of Jessica, her family and care team, bring awareness to other TBI patients’ families about proper testing for those who have been on life support or diagnosed as vegetative. The Pacific International Quilt Festival- October 13-16th, Thurs-Sat: 10am-6pm, Sun: 10am-4pm: The Pacific International Quilt Festival held at the Santa Clara Convention Center October 13-16, 2016, explores advances in techniques, cultural diversity and quilting as an artistic expression. What better way to express yourself than with a fabulous wardrobe! Not only is there a wonderful collection of garments in the wearable art competition displayed on the floor of the show, but on Friday, October 14 at 7:00 pm the catwalk will come alive with the ever popular PIQF Fashion Show. Karen D. Boutte organizes and moderates this year’s fashion showcase, “Fashion Flair 2016.” Let the “Quilt Diva” entertain you, and the unique and beautiful clothes inspire you.
