Robbery at Great America Confused as an Active Shooter

A strong-arm robbery occurred at California’s Great America theme park in Santa Clara on the night of Saturday, Oct. 26 around 10:45 p.m. In the confusion, it was believed shots had been fired and that there was an active shooter, according to the Santa Clara Police Department.

However, at 11:30 p.m. the police confirmed that no shots were fired and that it was, in fact, a strong-arm robbery.

The suspect(s) remain at large.

During the Halloween season, California’s Great America holds its annual Halloween Haunt, when the park is open on select nights until 11 p.m. and sometimes until 1 a.m.
