Police Report

The Police Blotter highlights a partial list of incidents in the city and is distributed on a weekly basis. The Blotter provides the date, time, approximate location, a narrative summary of the incident, case number and the most serious arrest charge.

Meanwhile, the Arrest Log provides a timely, chronological summary of all of the arrests made by the Santa Clara Police Department. It includes the name of the suspect(s), date of birth, city in which they reside, arrest date, time, location, case number as well as all of the charge(s) associated with the arrest. This information, located on the Santa Clara Police Department’s home page (www.scpd.org), is updated daily and serves as the most comprehensive list of arrests made.

Drug Arrest

Location:  3400 Block of El Camino Real

Officers made contact with three subjects in a suspicious vehicle at a motel on the 3400 block of El Camino Real. There was a strong odor of cannabis emanating from the vehicle.

A Records check revealed the driver was on probation and the two passengers had outstanding felony warrants for their arrest. One subject was in possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia. Another subject possessed drug paraphernalia. All three subjects were arrested.

Traffic Accident

Location:  3500 Block of El Camino Real

Officers responded to the 3500 block of El Camino Real on a report of a vehicle crashing into the structure.

Upon arrival, officers found that a male driver had driven his car partially through the front window of a business. Multiple patrons received minor injuries. The Santa Clara Fire Department treated the injured parties before they were transported to a local hospital.

This accident is being investigated.

Hit and Run

Location:  100 Block of Buckingham Drive

An officer responded to the 100 block of Buckingham Drive on the report of a hit and run. Upon arrival, the officer observed two damaged vehicles and investigated the incident. The suspect and corresponding vehicle remains at large.

Robbery

Location:  3900 Block of Rivermark Plaza

Officers responded to a report of a robbery that had just occurred on the 3900 block of Rivermark Plaza.

Officers arrived and began taking witness statements. Three male juveniles and one female juvenile stole two 12-packs of beer without paying. When an employee confronted the four suspects, a male juvenile brandished a knife and threatened the employee.  The suspects fled with the beer.

A Community Service Officer witnessed individuals walking along Lick Mill Boulevard matching the suspect descriptions. The suspects were detained and positively identified during in-field show-ups.

A Records check confirmed the female juvenile was a missing person. The arrestees were in possession of a folding knife, a controlled substance and alcoholic beverages.  It was later determined one of the male arrestees was actually an adult. Three suspects were transported to Juvenile Hall and the adult suspect was booked in Santa Clara County Jail.

Drunk in Public

Location:  1500 Block of Los Padres Boulevard

An officer was dispatched to the 1500 block of Los Padres Boulevard as a result of a business contacting Public Safety Dispatchers regarding an intoxicated male subject causing a disturbance in a store.

The subject was located in a nearby restaurant restroom, with a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and an inebriated state. He was unable to safely care for himself, was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

Residential Burglary

Location:  600 Block of Hillsdale Avenue

On 04/06/18 between 1300 hours and 1400 hours, a residential burglary occurred on the 600 block of Hillsdale Avenue.

 

An unknown suspect(s) forced entry into a residence by breaking a rear sliding glass door.  Multiple items were taken from the residence including jewelry, electronics and cash. The suspect(s) remain at large.

Grand Theft

Location:  5200 Block of Stevens Creek Boulevard

An officer was patrolling a parking lot on the 5200 block of Stevens Creek Boulevard when a license plate check revealed a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was unoccupied.

 

After a short time, an adult male and two adult female suspects came running out of the store with stolen merchandise and started to get in the vehicle. The officer activated emergency lights and blocked in the stolen car. All three suspects fled on foot.

 

The male suspect was located in the area, resisted arrest and a controlled electronic device was used to subdue the suspect. The male suspect was transported to a local hospital before being booked at the Santa Clara County Jail.

 

The stolen items were recovered and valued at $12,000. The two female suspects were not located.

Warrant Arrest – Felony

Location:  2200 Block of Ellena Drive

An officer was dispatched to a report of a collision on the 2200 block of Ellena Drive where one of the motorists was refusing to exchange information with the other motorist, both involved in a collision on private property.

 

Upon officer arrival, the motorist refusing to provide insurance and identifying information told the officer he did not have any identification on him. He provided the officer with his name. A Records check revealed he had multiple felony warrants. He was arrested and transported to the Police building. The arrestee did not match the photograph on file. His real identity was determined, and a subsequent Records check revealed a felony warrant. He was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

Petty Theft

Location: 3600 Block of Benton Street

An unknown suspect(s) cut a cable lock securing the bicycle to a parking space and fled with the bicycle in an unknown direction. The bicycle was valued at $150 and the cable lock was worth $20.  The suspect(s) remain at large.
