A quick meeting of the Santa Clara Planning Commission on Oct. 11. In less than an hour, the commission dispatched all of the City business before it and headed home for the night.
The only item on the agenda was a tentative subdivision map for the property located at 3378-86 El Camino Real. The lot is in Koreatown near Nobili Avenue.
The developer wants to turn the .88 acre lot into 22 townhouse units that will then be sold. City staff says the development is consistent with the general plan.
There was no discussion from planning commissioners. They approved the tentative subdivision map by a vote of 5-0.
Consent Calendar and Other Business
Chair Priya Cherukuru and Nancy Biagini were both absent from the meeting. Commissioners voted to excuse the absences.
The Planning Commission also approved the following items on the consent calendar:
- Action on a use permit to allow an ambulatory surgery center on the first floor of a building located at 1871 Martin Ave.
- Action to approve a use permit to allow the on-site sale and consumption of beer and wine for a restaurant located at 2450 El Camino Real.
The next meeting of the Planning Commission will take place on Oct. 25 in City Council Chambers. At the meeting, commissioners will hear details and take action on the Downtown Precise Plan.
The Planning Commission’s Nov. 8 meeting has been canceled and moved to Nov. 15. At the Nov. 15 meeting, the commission will take action on the zoning code update.
Commissioners heard an overview of the zoning code changes at the Sept. 20 meeting. They were supposed to hold a hearing and vote on whether to recommend approval to the City Council at this meeting, but City staff said more time was needed to finalize the report.
