I read Pat Alves letter to the editor this week and have to echo her sentiments. Since when can council members not dissent without being threatened with censure or admonishment? I am appalled and find it echoes the current administration behavior which is frightening to me. Our country is based on the philosophy that disagreement is inherent and discussion of differing opinions essential to the common good. It is time for this city’s council to reflect that attitude and not one of name calling and petty behavior such as being displayed at the federal level.
