On February 27, 2011, at 7:25 a.m., Santa Clara Fire Fighters and Police Officers responded to the 2200 block of Monroe Street after a passerby reported an unconscious person.
Responding personnel determined the 31-year-old victim is Alphonso Barcenas Castillo from San Jose appeared to be the victim of homicide.
Detectives are currently following up on leads and gathering information, but in order to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation, few details are available for release at this time.
The identity of the victim is being withheld until confirmed by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office.
This is the first homicide of 2011 in Santa Clara.
