Santa Clara Around Town 4/13-4/19

RJJT Presents “The Wizard of Oz!”- Friday-Saturday, April 15-16th 7-9:30pm, Sunday, April 17th 2-4:30pm: Roberta Jones Junior Theatre continues its 48th season with the classic musical “The Wizard of Oz.” Dorothy Gale and her little dog Toto go on a magical journey over the rainbow to the land of Oz. This bright and colorful stage version has all the well-loved music from the classic MGM film, including “Over the Rainbow,” If I Only had a Brain,” “We’re Off to See the Wizard” and more. With Music and Lyrics by Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg, this live adaptation of the beloved classic is sure to be a must-see event for all ages. The RJJT production features a cast and crew of over 75 people, ages 8-18, a live orchestra, and professional flying effects provided by ZFX Flying, Inc. Performances are April 15, 16, 22, and 23 at 7pm, April 17 and 24 at 2pm, at the Mission City Center for Performing Arts, 3250 Monroe St, at the corner of Calabazas, at Wilcox High School in Santa Clara. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children (ages 3-18), and can be purchased online at www.RJJT.org, or in person at the Community Recreation Center, 969 Kiely Blvd in Santa Clara. Roberta Jones Junior Theatre is a program of the City of Santa Clara Parks and Recreation Department.
