Your thoughtful commentary on balancing the right to protest and enforcing laws against looting and rioting is much appreciated. The Constitution protects the right of assembly — but many who equate protest with rioting omit a key word in the constitutional provision: that provision protects “peaceable” assembly.
I hope your thoughtful comments are taken at face value and do not result in efforts to silence you as we have seen in the case of Drew Brees and the long-time announcer for the Sacramento Kings.
