Re: Article on Pruneridge Avenue (A success story) – Letter to the Editor

Years back, when Apple was still in the process of permitting, our nearby neighbors were really upset by a vision of an unbreakable string of Apple employees using Prunridge blocking our single access streets for hours on end while we attempted to cross the double lane access each way. Not necessarily connected, our section of Pruneridge was converted to “road diet” reducing its capacity as a raceway from Lawrence to Tantau. Proposals were offered by locals to add stop lights or 4-way stops which were too expensive ($100k to $40K). One cheap suggestion was to paint “Keep intersection clear” at most intersections. Apple employees have since proven very courteously opening to permit side access. They have an alternate choice of Homestead or Stevens Creek.
