Hello, I am 12 years old, have lived in Santa Clara all of my life, and am in a Boy Scout troop. I enjoy swimming and have taken swimming lessons taught by the city. However, my pool time is restricted to the summer. I wish that the public pools were open during the spring and fall also. I do not think that the swimming pools are put to enough use, is only open for a short period of time during the summer. During the time that the pools are closed, from what I know, the pools still need to be maintained so that they do not degrade during the offseason. I think that other people have the same opinion as me but may not want to speak up about this issue. Whatever can be thought of to maximize the usage of the pools would be a great service to the community. Thank you, A concerned citizen of Santa Clara.
