Letter to the Editor by James Rowen

The residents of Pomeroy Avenue won a major victory this week due to the diligent research of Council Member Kathy Watanabe and earnest efforts by Pat Mahan, Debi Davis, and Mayor Gillmor to maintain their neighborhood by rejecting a bad proposal for developing the area. Watanabe and Davis deserve praise as does Mahan and Gillmor. I will give Hossam Haggag congratulations and a hand of support for winning the Clerk election. It is important for residents to give accolade to Davis and Watanabe for doing the right thing, and heartfelt gratitude to Gillmor and Mahan for continuing their decades long efforts to preserve the neighborhoods. As for Teresa ONeill, the words of Whittier’s “Ichabod” suffice.
