Letter From Maurice Turner

I am astonished at the closing of Save Mart grocery store and to allow apartments to be built on this Plaza.

This store closing just points to the lack of planning for the senior citizens of this community that live in the low income apartments on the other side of El Camino. They just had a short walk over to the Plaza to obtain reasonable priced groceries. Now they will have to catch a buss to get to get to the next store. It seems that this city council is determined to fill Santa Clara with apartments which will cause massive grid locks. Each apartment will have a minimum of two cars, since it takes two people to pay or rent a home here. Soon getting in or out of Santa Clara will be a challenge.
