I don’t really understand why race or heritage is an issue and, it should not be. The concept of favoring a particular candidate because of ethnicity is almost sophomoric. In my mind Debi Davis is the most qualified and has great connection with people.
I was offended by the Merc, editorial saying that all SC city councils have been “white” thus suggesting that SC is living only in white world, and run by a bunch of white guys. I’m not going to play the Merc’s politically correct game. At best, the Merc newspaper is a biased ultra-liberal rag for mostly advertisements. And, I believe most halfway intelligent people recognize that and will see through the biased endorsements.
Debi’s opponent claims to know the city. But, does the city know him? In turn she does know the city and the city knows her.
