Letter from Kathy Watanabe

If you are a voter in Santa Clara, you are a stakeholder in Santa Clara Unified. If you a voter and don’t have children in school, you are still a stakeholder in Santa Clara Unified. If you are a property owner in Santa Clara, you are a stakeholder in Santa Clara Unified. If you pay taxes in Santa Clara, you are a stakeholder in Santa Clara Unified. Many people (young and young at heart) don’t realize that just because they may not have children in school they should still be aware of what is going on in their school district and who is making crucial decisions about the direction of SCUSD. Things may not be perfect but API scores and testing have been on the upswing in recent years. Change doesn’t happen overnight. It takes all of the stakeholders working together to make a district successful. Please get involved.
