The City of Santa Clara – and many other cities in the State of California – are being gutted by demands from the State for money. It is my belief that the most effective form of government is the most local. It is our city services that we use daily and need the most.
If Jerry Brown has his way, he will control all funds in the State – will delegate more power to regional agencies and will reduce the effectiveness of our cities. We need to be aware of the dangers of these actions and take political steps to stop them.
Cities fund and manage the police, fire dept., parks, libraries, and other local services.
Please join me in protesting the grabbing of our local funds for other purposes. Write your representatives, write your letters to the editor, attend meetings to learn more about these issues and let your voice be heard.
