HSSV Adoption Event a Huge Success

Hundreds of people walked through the doors of Humane Society Silicon Valley February 12 looking for a special Valentine. The shelter was hosting its second annual Valentines Adopt-a-Thon and, to sweeten the deal, it was one of HSSV’s “Name Your Own Adoption Fee” events.

The Adopt-a-Thon was held at both the main HSSV Animal Community Center as well as its two satellite locations inside PETCO Sunnyvale and PETCO San Jose.

It wasn’t just for cats and dogs though. Rabbits and rodents were up for adoption also, and at the end of the day, a total of 30 animals had found homes and were ready to get showered with all the love and affection necessary to make any Valentine’s Day complete.

There are still plenty of animals anxiously awaiting families. To see a list of adoptable companions, visit or take a trip to the center at 901 Ames Ave. in Milpitas.
