Dorothy Mae, formerly of Fair Lawn, New Jersey, and Santa Clara, California died Sept. 30. She was 90 years old. Born in Paterson, New Jersey on July 25, 1924, she was the daughter of Clarence Leo Edwards and Catherine Jessica Brammall Edwards of Fair Lawn.
Edwards graduated from Maryland College for Women in Lutherville, and also attended the New York School of Interior Design. Edwards began her career with Lord & Taylor in New York City as the Fashion Coordinator of the store’s window displays. Later she worked for Goodell Fabrics as a Sales Representative. In 1964 she joined F. Schumacher & Company as an Account Executive in New York City. In 1977 she relocated to California and remained with the company until she retired in 1992. Edwards returned to New Jersey in 2011 to be near her close extended family.
She is survived by a sister, Marjorie Newton of Bloomington, Indiana and many “close family” nieces and nephews, and was predeceased by her sister, Eileen Ruth Edwards, of Fair Lawn.
A graveside burial service was held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 10 at Laurel
Grove Cemetery in Totowa, New Jersey.
