Arrests Made in Auto Burglary Spree

On Tuesday, Jan. 7, between the hours of 7 pm and 9 p.m., the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety received reports of 43 vehicle break-ins which occurred at numerous locations throughout the City. Sunnyvale Public Safety Officers worked closely with the victims and were able to track the suspects to the City of Oakland.

Sunnyvale Public Safety Officers worked with the Oakland Police Department and took two suspects into custody, who were in possession of numerous stolen property taken in Sunnyvale and other jurisdictions.

Ismael Murillo-Rodriguez, a 28-year old Oakland resident, and Brayan Burgos-Vargas, a 25-year old Oakland resident, were booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on 43 counts of 459 PC – Burglary and 496(a) PC – Receiving Stolen Property.
