On our way to do some shopping at one of the only two hardware stores in Santa Clara, my wife and I were dismayed to discover that Summer Winds plant nursery on El Camino had permanently shut down and that Office Max will be closing in November. That’s three Santa Clara businesses that I know of that have closed within the last 12 months. I see hundreds of apartments sprouting up throughout our city and business after business closing! What’s going on?! Where in Santa Clara can we go for office supplies? When will the building that used to be Save Mart get a new tenant? Can our city government do anything to bring in and keep new businesses? This has to stop now!
