The best predictors of a person’s future actions are their past actions. That is why it is crystal clear that Elise DeYoung, Albert Gonzalez, and Jim VanPernis should be our picks for Santa Clara Unified School Board. They have in-depth knowledge of the workings of the school district, compassion and understanding for the obstacles facing students, families, and schools, and a strong history of volunteering and working towards the success of SCUSD. These are the people who have the best interest of our students at heart. Do we really need more people on the board who use questionable tactics, are more concerned with their own stature, bragging about their degrees and so-called accomplishments, all the while obstructing the business at hand? No we don’t. The facts make it crystal clear — re-elect Elise DeYoung and Albert Gonzalez and elect Jim VanPernis for what’s best for our students, our schools, and our community.
