Nancy Lee Marsalli: April 28, 1950 &ndash March 25, 2016

Longtime Santa Claran Nancy Marsalli died on Good Friday surrounded by her family and friends after a long battle with scleroderma and pulmonary arterial hypertension.

Nancy was passionate about family – especially her grandchildren – and an active community member; serving as a board member at Church of the Valley and Valley Village Retirement Community a Santa Clara Vanguard volunteer. A graduate of San Joe State University, Nancy worked for Santa Clara Unified and Fremont Union High School Districts until her retirement in 2010.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Jerry Marsalli; sons Jerod and Brian Marsalli, daughter and son-in-law Janelle and Jason Smith, grandchildren Kaylee and Allison Smith, her mother Marian Butler, and a large extended family. She was predeceased by her father Benjamin Butler in 1989.

A vigil is scheduled for Thursday, March 31, 2016, starting at 7 p.m. at Lima-Campagna-Alameda Mission Chapel, 600 South Second Street, San Jose. The funeral service will be held at Church of the Valley on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 11:00 A.M., 400 North Winchester Boulevard, Santa Clara. Interment will follow at the Santa Clara Mission Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in Nancy’s memory to the Scleroderma Foundation (www.scleroderma.org) or the Pulmonary Hypertension Association (www.phassociation.org).
