On Wednesday, September 16, the Mission Library Family Reading Center (1098 Lexington Street in Santa Clara) was transformed from a nice grassy area where people usually stroll into a mini performance stage as Ballet Folklorico Mexicano Fuego Nuevo took the stage and put on a show featuring dancers of all ages. The event celebrated Mexican culture and traditions through folkloric dance. The free event is part of the “Countdown to the 60th!” programs that the Mission Library is hosting, leading up to its 60th anniversary event on Saturday, October 17, from 10 am – 2 pm. The program was made possible by a grant from the Santa Clara City Library Foundation and Friends.
